BaseCamp is being built for trusted groups of RV-owning friends. We collect only what is needed to run the service, and this pre-launch website does not track you.
Who this policy covers
This policy describes the BaseCamp marketing website and the forthcoming BaseCamp iOS application (together, “BaseCamp”). Because the app is not yet publicly available, some operational details may change before launch. We will update this policy if they do.
Information the app collects
Account information
When you create an account, the app collects your email address so you can sign in, receive essential account communications, and recover access.
Crew and trip content
BaseCamp stores content you choose to add, such as crew membership, messages, trip dates, RSVPs, RV details, resort preferences, and booking coordination information. This content is used to provide the features you request and is visible to the crew members involved in that trip or crew.
Optional location
If you grant iOS location permission and choose to share your location for a trip, BaseCamp processes your location so it can appear on the shared crew map. Location sharing is optional, can be turned off, and is shared only with your crew—not with other BaseCamp users or advertisers.
Family invite phone numbers
If an existing user sends a family invite, the phone number they enter is used only to deliver that one-time transactional invitation. Learn more in the BaseCamp Family Invites SMS Opt-In Policy.
SMS & Mobile Information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
SMS consent is collected per-invite and is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. Learn more about this transactional program in our SMS Opt-In Policy.
How information is used
- To create and secure accounts.
- To show crew, trip, chat, RSVP, map, resort, availability, and booking features.
- To contact resorts or coordinate bookings when a user asks BaseCamp AI to do so.
- To provide support and send essential service communications.
- To protect BaseCamp and its users from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Crew content and optional location are shared with the crew members you choose. We may share the minimum necessary information with service providers that host or operate BaseCamp, with resorts when you ask us to check availability or coordinate a booking, or when required by law. Service providers may use information only to perform services for BaseCamp.
Retention and security
We plan to retain account and crew information while an account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can decline or revoke location permission in iOS settings. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete your account information by emailing hello@basecampcrew.com. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
Children
BaseCamp is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to BaseCamp.
